Historical floods between Ticino and Adda – WMS

Description

The map collects, in a partial and non-exhaustive way, the areas historically flooded by watercourses between Ticino and Adda. The sources of information are different, as well as how areas are acquired and digitised; therefore, the quality of the data is heterogeneous. Even with reference to the single flood event, the mapping of the areas involved may be incomplete. Flooded areas are represented in the following flood events: Seveso and Certesa torrents: flood of 27 November 2002 (T. Seveso only; source: Po River Basin Authority); floods of 8 July and 15 November 2014 (source: Lombardy Region with Municipalities or perimeters provided by the Municipalities); torrents Terrò, Certesa and Roggia Vecchia: surveys July 2014 (Source of sub-basin study, 2017); Lambro River: floods of 1947 and 1951 (source: Lombardy Region – Studio Paoletti); 2000 flooding (source: Study Transavio); River Olona: 1992 flooding (source: Magistrate for the Po); flood of 12-13 September 1995 (source: Lombardy Region); rivers Adda Sopralacuale and Mera: 1987 flooding (source: Lombardy Region, aerial survey); River Adda Sublacuale: 2002 flooding (source: Po River Basin Authority); 2002 survey in the Municipality of Lodi (source:AIPO 2018); torrent Dordo: flood of 22 September 1979, 6 July 1992, 26 November 2002, 25 June 2014 and 15 November 2014 (source: Sub-basin study year 2015); Morletta torrent: flooded areas, flooded areas over the past 40 years, flooded areas in the last 20 years subject to and not subject to accommodation (source: sub-basin study 2012); — creek Scuropasso (source: Sub-basin study 2011, Po River Basin Authority 2001); torrent Versa (source: Sub-basin study 2011, Po River Basin Authority 2001); stream Quisa: floods of 25 June 2014 (source: Sub-basin study 2017); City of Como: historical floods from 1489 to 2008 (source: Geological component of the PGT, 2015) Ticino river: 2000 flooding (source: Ticino Park, aerial survey); torrent Lenza: 2002 flooding (source: Geological component of the Sesto Calende PGT); Delimitation of floods produced by floods of 26-27 September 1947, 8-12 November 1951 and 1976, derived from the hydro-orographic map of the territories between the Ticino, Adda and Po rivers of the Province of Milan – Area of intervention and layout of the territory – hydraulic sector. These areas have been digitised after georeferencing of a cartography with a very different topographical base from the current one. The mapping therefore suffers from a very high degree of uncertainty. As regards the flooded areas of the Seveso and Certesa streams of 8 July 2014, this map service amends and complements the one previously published (from 1/10/2014 to 30/09/2015) and called “Area flooded Seveso – 8 July 2014”, on the basis of comments and further reports made by the municipalities.
