Optimal Territorial Areas (ATO) — Law No 1/2014
Description
The optimal territorial areas (ATO) are the portions of the territory in which the integrated water service (aqueduct, sewage and purification) is organised. The Legislative Decree 152/2006 provides that the regions identify and define the ATOs to improve the management of the integrated water service, ensuring that they are carried out according to criteria of efficiency, effectiveness and cost-effectiveness.
