Description
The database of Forest Teleferics was created in the 1980s by the nucleus of the Regional Forestry Corps responsible for the COR, the Regional Operational Centre for the management of forest fires.In the alpine rescue and fire extinguishing operations with the use of aerial means, the exact knowledge of the location of these real obstacles to the flight, which is a source of serious risks due to their poor visibility, is of fundamental importance.The regional offices have no direct competence in this matter, reserving the law all responsibility to the individual holder of the installation with regard to the administrative and reporting obligations of the cable. However, with this database, for some time also present in the WEB map viewer and which has over 700 plants (almost 600 still thesis, and more than 430 dangerous for the flight), the Forest Management Service and AIB and the CFR intend to continue to make available to the public elements that, in addition to increasing the safety of those who travel to the regional territory, can profitably be used from a technical, economic and historical point of view. Geometries are line-type and are updated on the signal of forest personnel. The associated database contains the relevant technical (diameter, type, etc.) and qualitative elements (state, flight exposure, etc.).
