Geosites

Description

The territory of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region contains, within its perimeter, a series of spectacular geological and geomorphological evidence, distributed over an interval of almost half a billion years. Concrete expression of such evidence are the geosites, understood as individual portions of territory that preserve and propose in a clear and fascinating way some geological characteristics worthy of being valued, disseminated and protected, as expressions of a particular evolutionary moment. For this reason, geosites are an integral part of the regional cultural and natural heritage.
