Description
The organic carbon map stored in lowland soils gives the CO content in Mg/ha in the first 30 cm of soil. The value is estimated considering the distribution of different soil types and the incidence of non-soil surfaces, understood as areas occupied by surface water, urban and infrastructure. The representation of the territory takes place through a mesh structure consisting of cells with a side of 500 m. The attribution of the value to the cell and the result of a geostatistical analysis applied to the Plain Soil Map (scale 1:50,000); the distinction between areas occupied by soil and those occupied by non-soil derives from the Land Use Charter 2008, on a scale of 1:25,000 drawn up by the Geographic Information Systems Service of the Emilia-Romagna Region.
