Description
The Mountain Communities of Liguria were abolished on 30 April 2011 following the provisions of Regional Laws No 23/2010 and No 7/2011. On the same day, the delegations attributed to the consortia of municipalities were also revoked. Since 1 May 2011, the Liguria Region has directly exercised all administrative functions in the field of agriculture, forests, mountain economy and forest firefighting.
With regard to the Regional Rural Development Programme (RDP), all the functions previously carried out by mountain communities and consortia of municipalities are the responsibility of the Regional Agricultural Inspectorate Sector, divided into four provincial offices and fifteen branches for the territory, which in many cases are hosted in the pre-existing headquarters of the mountain communities.
