Source mapping 2017: Buchstein West

Description

The mapping included the west side of the Buchstein Group, which mostly went to Buchaubach. (Weißenbach) and in the south drained over some small ditches to Enns. Overall, 140 water points, 52 of which are registered. This increases the total number of sources used by the National Park Administration in the The region is recorded and documented at 930. The sources described here are all outside the national park area, however, most of its water is sourced from there. Geologically, the buckstone — main stick from the known layer sequence of calcareous alpines Triassics built. Advantages of mighty Wetterstein or Ramsaudolomit steep to the benched Dachstein limestone, which forms the walls and peaks (Gr. Buchstein 2.224 m). The slopes and valleys are from quaternary to recent loose rock masses, such as moraines, Downhill rubble and rubble streams fulfilled. Isolated are the slope pads to breccia put it on. In the Lauferwald along the Gesäuse Disorder (SEMP) the Cretaceous Periods Gosau layers. At such layers and shed boundaries, ground and karst water is often pressed to the surface. The mapping was found in relatively dry weather conditions and moderate low water instead of it. The reasonably abundant springs all come only in the lowest slope district. exposed (median at 890 m). Higher than 1,200 metres above sea level are mostly very small, difficult to reach in the rugged terrain formations and became i.A. Don't look up. Larger source horizons originate in the Talenge Powder Maker (Estuary Langgrießgraben) and at the inn Fischerhütte. Larger, slightly higher single sources have but also the Grießbach, the Schschlafgraben and the Kleine Billbach as well as in the southern section to offer the Mühlbachgraben, the Brunnergraben and the Ritschenbach. The sources are consistently cold, the T-median is 7.6 C. The spectrum of mineralisation is mostly inconspicuous: the large karst and gap springs have conductivity between 200 and 350 & 956;S, only some deeper source systems from salinar rock horizons exceed the 500 & 956;S mark. The median is 333 & 956;S, i.e. slightly dolomitic embossed Water outweighs. 21 sources proved to have been used or used in any form affected, from gravel mining via wells and house supplies to fish ponds. Amphibians were rarely found in the area. The dry environment and the extensive Lack of calm to standing waters is generally not amphibious. Only the Grass frog is present in the moist canyons. The FFH-Annex II type yellow belly shank (Bombina variegata) comes only in the region Lauferwald to Lauferbauerinsel and as a small Island population right-sided Kl. Billbach. The stone cancer classified in the FFH-RL as a priority (Austropotamobius torrentium) was discovered in waterholes at the upper Buchaubach; this occurrence should — like the overall situation of these highly endangered Nature around the National Park — to be investigated urgently. Biology (fauna and moss) was sampled at 5 source areas. A Part of the results is already available in this report. For in-depth investigations for integration into future National Park Source Weeks, 14 more Source biotopes suggested.
