Description
Invasive dreissenid mussels (quagga mussels, Dreissena rostriformis bugensis and zebra mussels, D. polymorpha) were introduced to the Laurentian Great Lakes in the 1980âs and have since spread throughout the Great Lakes basin and across North America. This collection contains shell length, shell weight, and tissue weights from quagga mussels collected from multiple stations in the Great Lakes in conjunction with the Cooperative Science and Monitoring Initiative (CSMI) cycle and the NOAA Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) Long-Term Research program. Stations were selected to represent a range of depth zones and the major geographic regions of each lake.
