Risk assessment means a methodology that determines the nature and degree of risk, analysing potential threats and assessing the existing state of vulnerability that together can endanger the population, material and cultural goods, plant and animal life, etc. The risk includes a combination of the likelihood of an event and its negative consequences. Major accident risk assessments for local self-government units shall be made at least once every 3 years.
