The prices of the housing presented here are taken from the **real estate ads** published in the daily and specialist press, and on the real estate portal [IMMOTOP.LU] (http://www.immotop.lu/). These are in no way the selling prices actually paid by the buyers, but the ** prices requested by the seller at the time of the sale of the property, before any negotiation**.
The Habitat Observatory distributes a series in current euros (in nominal value) and a series in **EUROS CONSTANTS**: constant prices are prices in real terms, i.e. adjusted for changes in consumer prices (reflected here by the National Consumer Price Index of STATEC) in relation to a basic or reference data. The series in constant euros thus describes the change in the prices announced for the sale of dwellings after taking into account inflation on consumer prices.
