COVID-19 vaccination coverage (NIJZ CNB)

Description

At the NIJZ, we monitor the implementation of vaccination against COVID-19 based on data on vaccinations performed, which are transmitted by vaccine providers to the Electronic Register of Vaccinated Persons and Adverse Effects after Vaccination (Erco). Some vaccination providers provide late vaccination data in Erco, so the data collected in Erco underestimate the actual number of COVID-19 vaccinations carried out in Slovenia. Due to the continuous process of data collection, correction of system entry errors, corrections by contractors and verification of data by logical controls at the NIJZ, the data in the report are kept up to date. For the purpose of monitoring vaccination coverage of the population of Slovenia by age groups, the age of vaccinated persons shall be calculated on day 1. 1. 2022. Data on the population of Slovenia on 1.1.2022 (Population, Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia) are used to calculate the share of vaccination coverage. Deaths before this date are excluded from the calculation of COVID-19 vaccination in Slovenia. DEFINITIONS Single-dose vaccination — number or proportion of persons vaccinated with at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine. All-dose vaccination — number or proportion of persons vaccinated according to the baseline scheme (i.e. fully vaccinated) recommended by the manufacturer of each vaccine. For Pfiser-BioNTech, Moderna, Astra Zeneca and Novavax, two doses of the vaccine are foreseen for the baseline regimen and one for Janssen. Additional/boosting dose — number or proportion of subjects who are vaccinated with an additional or booster dose (i.e. in addition to the primary schedule, also with an additional/boosting dose). An additional or boosted dose is considered to be each dose of vaccine after the baseline two doses of Pfiser-BioNTech, Moderna, Astra Zeneca or Novavax and each dose of vaccine after the baseline dose of Janssen.
