Population of the City of Brussels from 1830 to the present day

Description

Figures total population of the City of Brussels (different sources official, see table) The data used come from the National Register. The official figure of the population does not take into account the waiting register of asylum seekers, i.e. persons with an asylum application in the process of being processed (Law of 24 May 1994 creating a waiting register for foreigners who are declare refugees or apply for recognition of the quality of refugee). The figures published by Eurostat, on the other hand, include a estimate of persons registered in the waiting register. A number limited registrations in the National Register are made late or not are not correct. Therefore, the observed population growth (difference between population on 1 January 2023 and population on 1 January 2023) 2022) does not correspond to 100% of the balance obtained on the basis of births, death and migration. The statistical adjustment this year amounts to -208 units at Belgian level. It indicates that the data are of good quality.
