Small Basin Areas and Sector Areas

The small catchment area is the basic territorial unit for carrying out operational tasks in water management. The sector comprises a number of neighbouring areas of small basins for which the link between water issues ensures uniform water management, in particular the implementation of flood defences.
34 small catchment areas and 6 sectors are identified in the Republic of Croatia.
