Archaeological excavations of Via Consoli del Mare, Pisa, 2007
Description
The Dataset contains the complete archaeographic documentation of the excavation including US cards (in .pdf format), US lists (in .pdf, .csv, .xml formats), matrix (in .pdf format), US plants (in .dwg format,) composite plants (in .pdf format) and all photographic documentation (in .jpeg format). The photographic documentation is enclosed in .zip folders that contain both the photos of US and the images of the finds found.
The excavation brought to light the remains of two buildings, probably erected during the twelfth century, separated by an alley. One (sector 100) intended, from the 12th to the beginning of the 14th century, for processing first only steel, then more generally metallurgical, the other (sector 700) for housing purposes. The buildings that collapsed during the first half of the 15th century and then were stripped of the masonry parts at two different times (third quarter of the 15th century for the north building, third quarter of the 16th century for the south building), leave room first for an abandoned area, then, with the construction of the church of S. Stefano dei Cavalieri (1565-7), for an open area.
