Physical trajectory profile data from glider glos_236 deployed by Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) in the Great Lakes from 2016-09-20 to 2016-09-22 (NCEI Accession 0242912)

Description

Slocum glider data were collected during a southern Lake Michigan deployment from 2016-09-20 through 2016-09-22. The glider initially deployed from Muskegon, MI and traveled west and then south alone the shore. The glider had a bad leak and was recovered on 09-22. Note, the glider was deployed in areas of Lake Michigan with at least 30 m of depth. The glider collected vertical profiles of conductivity, temperature, depth, chlorophyll, colored dissolved organic matter (CDOM), backscatter, and photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) between depths of 0 and 60 m. The National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) received the data in this dataset from the Integrated Ocean Observing System's National Glider Data Assembly Center (IOOS NGDAC). The IOOS NGDAC received the data in one or more netCDF files comprising an entire glider deployment. The data are measurements of physical oceanographic properties such as temperature, salinity, conductivity, and density. The IOOS NGDAC checked the files for compliance to their netCDF file convention, aggregated the files into a single netCDF file, and then submitted the file to NCEI for long-term preservation.
