Delimitation of areas with a potentially protective function (self- and heteroprotective) by GIS procedure for the territory of the province of Bolzano
As part of the Community initiative programme Interreg III Italy-Austria 2000-2006, a GIS-based procedure has been developed for the province of Bolzano with the aim of delimiting wooded areas with a potentially protective function (divided into woods with a self- and heteroprotective function). The following three phenomena have been studied: avalanches, falling boulders and water regulation.
