Description

This data set is comprised of data files produced by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) of lipids extracted using acid extraction method from pottery sherds as part of the study entitled 'Lipid residue analysis reveals divergent culinary practices in Japan and Korea at the dawn of intensive agriculture'. These data are linked to the published journal where methods of extraction, the context of pottery and the interpretation of data are fully described.  Each zip. file corresponds to the site code and the sample name is as recorded in supplementary data. These data are usable mzML file that can be opened and converted using open MS software.
