fCO2 underway measurements during Mission Microbiomes aboard SV Tara
Description
This dataset compiles underway fugacity of CO₂ measurements collected during Legs 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 of the Mission Microbiomes AtlantECO aboard the sailing vessel Tara. The dataset spans from August 2021, starting in Martinique (France), to late November 2021 at the Brazil-Uruguay border. It includes time and location of measurement, sea surface temperature, sea surface salinity, 10 m wind speed, bottom depth, equilibrator temperature, atmospheric pressure, molar fraction of CO₂ in seawater, partial pressure of CO₂ in seawater, and fugacity of CO₂ in seawater. This dataset has been submitted to the 2025 SOCAT release and is accompanied by the paper 'Exploring the CO₂ fugacity along the east coast of South America aboard the schooner Tara', submitted to ESSD by Olivier et al. Additionally, the dataset includes a metadata file (Metadata_TaraMicrobiomes_ATLANTECO.xlsx), formatted according to SOCAT submission requirements, providing further details specific to this dataset. The data is available in two open-access formats: CSV and NetCDF
