Description

The dataset contains anonymised focus group interview data collected for the INVEST4EXCELLENCE project aimed at developing expertise in 2022. The basic population of the data consists of representatives from the staff and stakeholders of Karelia University of Applied Sciences. The sampling was based on the following purposive sampling criteria: 1) professional background: individuals with expertise in research, development, and innovation activities (RDI), sustainable development, and supply chain management. 2) the research subjects represent as many stakeholder types as possible (higher education, administration, industry, and civil society). Three focus group interviews were conducted: one for Karelia University of Applied Sciences staff representatives and two for stakeholder representatives. A total of 10 people participated in the interviews, which were conducted in Finnish. The interviews were guided by themes that addressed the interviewees' views on sustainable development RDI expertise in the context of supply chains. The interviews covered four thematic areas: 1) competences needed in the organizations now, 2) competences needed in the organizations in the future, 3) methods for identifying and developing expertise in the respondent organizations, and 4) most feasible methods for the development of RDI competencies in cooperation between the university and stakeholders. The interview data was transcribed. The dataset includes a tabulated analysis dataset with four sheets, created based on the aforementioned thematic areas of the interview. The interview data is in Finnish, and the analysis data is in English.
