Description

EMMA is an Estonian language learner's corps established at the University of Tartu (with input and use interface), which contains authentic texts in Estonian (exam work, texts prepared in the learning process) from 9th and 12th grade students from 1999-2017. Starting from 2019, texts of Estonian as a second or foreign language learners will be added to the corps as a cooperation between the Estonian Language Institute and Foundation Innove and the corps will be expanded in terms of age group (additional texts of students in grades 3 and 6) as well as type of test (level work). The corps is single language (Estonian). Marking The housing is automatically set. With the help of the tagging system created for the housing, the texts in electronic form are marked with errors in the texts by the evaluators of the student texts. The flagging of errors is based on the types of errors that can be distinguished in the Estonian language state examination. Use The housing can be used for research and research purposes. If desired, the investigator will be able to add tags to the selected texts for examination using the tagging system created for the housing and perform analysis on the basis thereof.
