International reserves and foreign currency liquidity
Description
International reserves are Estonia's official reserve assets and other foreign currency assets. Among the official reserve assets, include Eesti Pank's foreign currency claims against non-residents of the euro area. Other foreign currency assets are claims on euro area residents in the foreign currency of Eesti Pank and claims on the foreign currency of the central government. In addition, the statistics on international reserves and foreign currency liquidity shall include, on a precautionary basis, known and also contingent short-term net cash flows from reserve and other foreign currency assets and other indicators characterising foreign currency assets.
The presentation of international reserves on Eesti Pank's website is based on a single standard developed by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) (Data Temple on International Reserves and Foreign Currency Liquidity).
