Description
The more precise name of the Pronunciation dictionary would be the transcription dictionary. Since it is designed for use in conjunction with speech synthesis in Estonian, the purpose is not to convey exactly how to pronounce a foreign name in the original language, but how to rewrite it in the letters of the Estonian alphabet so that when read out, the result can correspond to the description "so the Estonian would say this name."
