Numismatics:
The Coin Cabinet houses around 100,000 objects, including coins and medals as well as banknotes, securities, credit cards and coin stamps. The time spectrum ranges from Celtic coins to the currently valid coins and banknotes. The museum is the only institution that systematically collects coins from all over Switzerland. With about 30,000 pieces, the collection of Swiss coins is probably the largest collection of Swiss coins ever.
Seal collection: The museum has the most important seal collection in Switzerland and one of the largest in Europe; thanks to its systematic and clear structure, it is also user-friendly and easily accessible. The collection contains around 80,000 objects and consists of original seals, varnish prints and plaster casts. In addition, there are about 800 seal stamps (pet shafts) made of different materials.
