Number of Small Scale Vessels Registered in North Maluku, Maluku and West Papua Provinces of Indonesia

Description

This data asset includes registered vessels during 2017-2020, indicated by the date of BPKP issuance, and contains a wide range of variables such as owners, location (village, province, district and sub district), vessel specification (name, engine type, tonnage, length, width, height, material), operational (fishing gear, fishing ground, landing sites), fleet structure information (registration number, activation date, expiry date), and BPKP (issuance date, expiry date, issuer). These variables are useful in measuring fishing capacity (fishing effort) of small-scale fisheries to help the government develop and guide the direction of the country’s fishery development management plan. This data can be used to develop a typology of small-scale fishing fleets covering the size in length, gross tonnage and engine capacities.
