Description
In the archives of the West Frisian notaries, all kinds of deeds can be found, for example wills, estate separations and sales deeds of real estate. Before 1800 people often went to the notary to make statements in the context of a lawsuit. These so-called “certifications” are a rich source of historical and genealogical research. The Westfries Archive manages archives of notaries from the period 1552-1935.
