Number of sales of apartments, houses and land

This statistic is based on Land Advertising data (extracted from the **notarial acts**) sent by the Administration de l’Enregistrement, des Domaines et de la TVA to STATEC and the Observatoire de l’Habitat.
It includes all transactions relating to sales of apartments, houses and building land** that have been the subject of a notarial deed. This is why the number of transactions is systematically higher than the number of sales associated with the statistics on apartment prices: to compile the latter statistic, a number of treatments (selection of relevant transactions, exclusion of sales under long-term lease or with special rights, rejections of extreme values) lead to a reduction in the number of sales retained.
In addition, it should be noted that **the figures for houses are not exhaustive**, since they do not include a large proportion of new houses (land sold under construction contracts, self-construction, etc.), which are not the subject of a notarial deed as such.
Finally, **statistics can be revised**, since transactions can be recorded several months after the conclusion of the sale.
