Description
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) defines colonias as rural communities in close proximity to the U.S-Mexico border, lacking access to basic services such as water, sewer, or housing. The University of New Mexico Bureau of Business & Economic Research developed a dataset that approximates colonia locations in New Mexico.
