Nature conservation valuable habitats and building land dedication in Austria.
Description
This report identifies for the first time uncultivated habitats in Austria, which are valuable for nature conservation, which are located on dedicated building land. This situation involves conflicts, the possible development of which is analysed using scenarios. On the basis of today’s building land dedications, there is a considerable and worsening risk potential in the future. The results show that an ambitious and effective reduction of future building land dedications and a planning tax of unavoidable dedications are of high urgency.
