National EU reference laboratory for air pollutants
Description
According to the measurement concept regulation, a calibration workshop for operators of the Austrian air quality networks is held annually in the Federal Environment Agency. This provides the opportunity to compare and calibrate the respective standards for air pollutants with those of the Federal Environment Agency as a national EU reference laboratory, thus ensuring their traceability. For ozone, the deviations between the standard of the Federal Environment Agency and those of the participating Mes operators were in most cases less than one percent. Differences were found for sulphur dioxide up to 5 %, for nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide up to 1.6 %. As part of the workshop, the flow of measuring equipment was also calibrated. In addition, film sets for radiometric fine dust meters were compared with a reference film set by the Federal Environment Agency.
