Microplastic concentrations in surface water, beach sediment and crude salt in the northern Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh coast collected from 2019-03-22 to 2020-01-05 (NCEI Accession 0277997)

Description

This study estimated the concentration of microplastics (i.e. plastics measuring less than 5mm) in the surface water (reported in unit of pieces/m3), beach sediments (reported in unit of pieces/m3), and crude salt (reported in unit of pieces/kg), in the northern Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh coast during 2019-03-22 to 2020-01-05. Microplastics in the surface water were collected using a manta net while those in the sediment and crude salt were collected using a trowel. This dataset contains the results from all 18 surface water, 60 sediment, and 27 crude salt samples, in a spreadsheet format.
