The Members of the Committee of the Regions
Description
329 Members originating from all 27 EU member States of the EU compose the Committee of the Regions (CoR). They represent local and regional authorities of all political boards and are designated by the Council on the proposition of the member States. The Members are appointed for a renewable term-of-office of 5 years. The role of the Members is to draft opinions, when they are appointed as rapporteur, and else to discuss, amend and adopt the opinions allocated to the internal commission they belong to. The Members work for the CoR independently, in the interest of all regions and cities of Europe.
