Statistical Limits of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country
Description
1. ENTITIES. It is considered a singular entity to any habitable area of the municipality, inhabited or exceptionally uninhabited, clearly differentiated within it, and which is known by a specific denomination that identifies it without possibility of confusion. A municipality may consist of one or more population entities. If there are no clearly differentiated living areas in a municipality, it is considered that the municipality is a single entity.
2. NUCLEUS. In this set of data, subdivisions of the singular population entities are collected according to the distribution of buildings that are housing or the population. Population center. It is the set of at least ten buildings, which are forming streets, squares or other urban roads, as well as the isolated constructions that are less than 200 meters from that set or provided that the right population exceeds 50 inhabitants. Spread it. It is the set of buildings or houses of a singular entity of population that cannot be included in the concept of nucleus.
3. NEIGHBORHOODS. This data set includes subdivisions of municipalities with a population of more than 10,000 inhabitants. These subdivisions remain stable for time series studies. The creation of these territorial entities is due to the fact that other entities are or are very large in some cases and do not allow to establish homogeneous variables or vary much in a short time.
4. DISTRICT. The Census District is the intramunicipal grouping of census sections. The municipality will always have at least one district, even if it is a single section.
5. IT’S A SECTION. The census section is the partition of the district(s) of the municipality that is preferably defined by easily identifiable boundaries, such as natural land accidents, permanent buildings and roads, and which has a size between 1,000 and 3,500 residents, except in the case that the entire municipality has a lower population — in this case it would be district and section -. It should be borne in mind that a census section may contain one or more population entities.
