Description
The growing demand for electrical energy requires the increase in the number of lines and electrical lines installed in the natural environment, which usually implies a high risk of electrocution and collision of the birdlife. At present this problem is one of the main causes of unnatural mortality more frequent in this group of vertebrates.
In order to minimise the negative effects that these infrastructures cause on birds, Royal Decree 1432/2008 of 29 August 2008 establishing measures for the protection of birds against collision and electrocution in high-voltage overhead power lines was published.
Within the framework of this regulation, the Order of 6 May 2016 of the Minister for the Environment and Territorial Policy was approved, by virtue of which the priority areas of reproduction, feeding, dispersal and concentration of threatened bird species were delimited and the protection zones for avifauna within the scope of the CAPV were published in which the measures established against collision and electrocution in Royal Decree 1432/2008 will be applied.
The RESOLUTION of June 18, 2018, of the Director of Natural Heritage and Climate Change, determines high voltage overhead power lines that do not comply with the technical requirements established in Articles 6 and 7 of Royal Decree 1432/2008
