Description
Luxembourg Collective of Dance — Lucoda was created in 2019 as a non-profit association, in accordance with the amended law of 21 April 1928 on non-profit associations and foundations. The head office of the collective is located in Strassen. It bears the registration number “F 12510” with the Register of Commerce and Companies and the registration number “2019 6103 67999” with the Joint Centre for Social Security.
The Lucoda artist collective consists of dancers, choreographers, teachers and educators from the dance sector living and working in Luxembourg. Its purpose is to work for dance, develop, promote, coordinate, represent and/or organise artistic, cultural, social, educational, and/or event activities related to the expression of the body and the art of movement in all its forms, such as dance, movement, body expression, choreography, performance, live performance and other.
The peculiarity of the collective is the fact that it undertakes to reach the most diverse audiences with a particular focus on populations that usually do not have the habit of attending proposals for dance and bodily expression, or who do not, for various reasons, have access to them. To do this, the collective often works in situ and invests with some of its projects, socio-cultural activities or training offers in unexpected or unusual places.
Since its inception, the association has proposed several independent projects including e. a. “disengaged”, an in situ performance around Edward Steichen’s work, presented as part of the SoSo Festival at the CNA in Dudelange (2019), “In Continuum”, an international collaboration with the Staatsgalerie Saarbrücken as part of the Festival Perspectives (2021) or “The Creation of the World — Resondance”, a collaboration with the Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra and the Kinneksbond Mamer (2021).
