Air Quality Measurements and Meteorological Measurements Annual Report Background Monitoring Network 2016
Description
The Federal Environment Agency operates seven air quality centres at which background pollution, distance transport of air pollutants and air quality trends are collected. The report shows the results of the measurements in 2016 and the development of the last 20 years. The limit values for particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide, nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide and carbon monoxide, as well as for heavy metals and benzo(a)pyrene were met at all measuring points. The target value for ozone for the protection of human health was exceeded in Illmitz, at the zöbelboden and at the Sonnblick, that for the protection of vegetation in Illmitz and at the Sonnblick. The information threshold was not exceeded at any measuring point. For particulate matter (PM10), sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide and ozone (except Sonnblick), the lowest load was recorded at all measuring stations in 2016.
