Air Quality Measurements and Meteorological Measurements Annual Report Background Monitoring Network 2014
Description
The Federal Environment Agency operates seven air quality centres at which background pollution, distance transport of air pollutants and air quality trends are collected. The report shows the results of the measurements in 2014 and the development of the last 20 years. The statutory limit values for particulate matter (PM10), NO2, NOx, SO2 and CO were complied with at all measuring points. The target values for ozone for the protection of human health and for the protection of vegetation were exceeded in Illmitz, Pillersdorf and Vorhegg. The information threshold was exceeded in Illmitz. In a long-term comparison, 2014 was very low for all pollutants due to warm winter months and a rather cool summer at the background measuring stations, especially with ozone and PM10.
