Air Quality Measurements and Meteorological Measurements Annual Report Background Monitoring Network
Description
The Federal Environment Agency operates seven air quality centres at which background pollution, distance transport of air pollutants and air quality trends are collected. The report shows the results of the measurements in 2013 and the development of the last 20 years. The statutory limit values for particulate matter (PM10), NO2, NOx, SO2 and CO were complied with at all measuring points. The target value for ozone for the protection of vegetation was exceeded in Illmitz, Pillersdorf and Vorhegg, the target value for the protection of human health in Illmitz, Pillersdorf, Vorhegg and the Zöbelboden. The information threshold was exceeded in Illmitz and Enzenkirchen. By a long-standing comparison, in 2013 the background measuring stations had a below-average load on all pollutants, especially PM10.
