Air Quality Measurements and Meteorological Measurements Annual Report Background Monitoring Network 2009
Description
The Federal Environment Agency operates eight air quality centres. The measurements at these sites are used to determine background loads, distance transport of air pollutants and the trend of air quality. The report shows the results of the measurements in 2009 and the development of the last 15 years. The limit values of the Immissionsschutzgesetz-Luft were met at all measuring stations in 2009. The limit value for nitrogen oxide for the protection of vegetation was exceeded in Ried in the Zillertal valley. The target value for ozone for the protection of vegetation was exceeded in Illmitz and Vorhegg, the target value for the protection of human health in Illmitz, Vorhegg and at the Zöbelboden. The information threshold value was met at all measuring points. By long-term comparison, in 2009 all measured pollutants had a below-average load.
