Air quality measurements and meteorological measurements.
Description
The Federal Environment Agency operates seven air quality centres at which background pollution, remote extraction of air pollutants and air quality trends are collected. The report shows the results of the measurements in 2019 and the development of the last 30 years. The limit values for particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide, nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide and carbon mo-noxide, as well as for heavy metals and benzo(a)pyrene were met at all measuring stations in 2019. At most measuring points, the lowest loads since the beginning of the measurements have been recorded. The target values for ozone for the protection of human health and for the protection of vegetation have been exceeded at all measuring points, except in Vorhegg. Ozone pollution was close to the average of the last decades in 2019. The information threshold was exceeded in 2019 at the Illmitz monitoring station.
