Louisiana ESI: LG_INDEX (Large Index Polygons)

Description

This data set contains vector polygons representing the boundaries of all the hardcopy cartographic products produced as part of the Environmental Sensitivity Index (ESI) for Louisiana, as well as digital data extents. This data set comprises a portion of the ESI data for Louisiana. ESI data characterize the marine and coastal environments and wildlife by their sensitivity to spilled oil. The ESI data include information for three main components: shoreline habitats, sensitive biological resources, and human-use resources. See also the data layers, SM_INDEX (Small Index Polygons) and INDEX (Index Polygons), part of the larger Louisiana ESI database, for additional boundary information.
