Description
Littering, the heedless discarding of waste in the environment, is a global problem. Even in Austria, despite well-functioning waste management and waste management, waste is thrown away carelessly at neuralgic points such as public squares or along busy roads. At European level, the Single-Use Plastics Directive has taken another step to reduce waste volumes through littering. Against this background, the Federal Environment Agency has collected the quantity of littered waste for 2018 as well as data on composition and treatment.
