The file provided contains a list of localities and other places and/or places with their geographical coordinates.

— for official localities, the syntax is in accordance with the national register of localities and streets
— coordinates are derived from the BD-L-TC topo-cartographic database and represent the location of the locality name on the 1:5'000 scale topographic map
— the Luxembourg names contained in the file are those fixed by the Permanent Council of the Luxembourg Language CPLL)
— the LAU2 (Local Area Unit) codes in the file are the codes defined by the Statec to determine a common unambiguously
