ISTAT - Italian administrative limits
Description
List of Italian Municipalities historicized since 1861 on an ISTAT basis.
It keeps track of changes in municipal entities that have occurred over time, in particular:
- variations of the ISTAT code of the Municipality
- change in the name of the municipality
- variation of the Province of the Municipality
- change in the name of the Province
The information comes from two distinct sources: in addition to ISTAT, in fact, the ministerial source has been integrated (through the Territory Agency) for the assignment of the National Code (or Belfiore or Cadastre).
Decoding of fields:
- r_status: 1=current 2=modified 0=cessed. N.B.: status 2=modified refers to the variation of ISTAT municipality, common name, ISTAT province, name province, acronym province, region
- id_comune_next: When r_status=2 points to the next ID
- id_comune_prev: Point to the previous ID if the record for the municipality has changed.
