General reference grid (quadrants) as a reference system for various conservation surveys based on the grid of the floristic mapping of Austria. The spatial reference base is “Quadrants” of 5 minutes geogr. Length x 3 minutes geogr. Width (this corresponds to about 6.25 x 5.55 km in Austria). The network areas correspond to the basic fields of mapping the flora of Central Europe. The base fields measure 10' geogr. Length × 6' geogr. Width; they are each in four quadrants of 5' geogr. Length × 3' geogr. Width divided.
