E.L.E.K.P (Single Account for the Implementation of Social Policies [former LAEK])
Description
The purposes of the Account are:
1. The promotion of vocational training for workers and the unemployed
2. Promoting the employment of the unemployed and in particular the long-term unemployed who are at greater risk of social exclusion
The resources of the Account pursuant to Article 1 of Law 2434/96 and subsequently Law 4144/13 come from:
1. -HELPEKE’s employer’s contribution of 0.45% (subsequently 0.24%), which must be paid by all employers, for insured persons who belong to even one branch of OAED insurance and is calculated on the gross earnings on which IKA contributions are calculated.
2. -The contribution of 0.36% of EKA, which is a joint contribution of employers and employees for unemployment programs (0.26% for the employer, 0.10% for the employee), which in total was reduced to 0.22%.
Private undertakings and public sector bodies may take part in the programme, as defined in Article 51(1) of Law 1892/1990 (Government Gazette, Series I, No 101), as in force.
Personnel who have the right to train must be insured with IKA and be covered by even one Insurance Branch of OAED.
