Description
The data set shows bathing waters according to the Decree on the management of bathing water quality (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No 25/08). Bathing waters are determined on the basis of the criteria set out in the Rules on the Detailed Criteria for the Determination of Bathing Waters (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No 39/08). The above provisions transpose Directive 2006/7/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 February 2006 concerning the management of bathing water quality and repealing Directive 76/160/EEC into Slovenian law.
In accordance with the obligations set out in the Directive, the Decree establishes a list of bathing waters, and the obligation to carry out monitoring of bathing water quality is also laid down for these bathing waters. Furthermore, there is an obligation to act in cases where there is an occasional deterioration in bathing water quality or where the water is of poor quality. Bathing waters are defined in the annex to the Decree, together with an indication of the code and name of the surface water body on which they are located.
The data is intended for the state and local communities as a basis for the implementation of measures in the field of bathing water management or other water management tasks, where there may be no interference with the general use of water or the granted water rights. The data is also intended for the public, as information on where bathing waters are located.
