Description
Based on the heat pump, the Stirling engine and the quantum cascade laser, the report examines, for example, which factors were decisive for technology leaps in the development of these eco-innovations and how much time the developments took. In addition to a mature technology, other factors are also relevant to the market penetration of eco-innovations. In particular, regulatory frameworks trigger technological leaps in eco-innovation, which take into account the need for resource savings, climate protection and environmental protection. Even better products or lower costs lead to higher levels of penetration. Research is not only a prerequisite for innovation, but is seen as a service for the entire eco-innovation process.
