Katmai National Park and Preserve and Alagnak Wild River image mosaic
Description
MrSid compression 20:1 of mosaic of 2 Landsat Thematic Mapper 7 multispectral satellite images (bands 3, 2, 1) and 2 Landsat Thematic Mapper 5 (bands 3, 2, 1) for Katmai National Park and Preserve.
This Katmai National Park and Preserve satellite image mosaic was created by the National Park Service Alaska Landcover Mapping Program. TM5 images from path/row 72/19 August 30, 1991 and path/row 71/19 September 3,1995 were used together with TM7 images path/row 70/19-20 August 16, 2000 to create this product. Coverage is complete for the entire Park.The mosaic was created using bands 3-red, 2-green,and 1-blue and results in a true color image of the Park. The TM image data was sampled for a 30m pixel. The original image was generated for the National Park Service in Alaska Albers NAD83 format. The mosaic is useful down to approximately 1:60,000. The eastern TM7 data exhibits better radiometric quality than the TM5 data. The expected geometric accuracy of the product is ± 50m.
