Description
Art in Amsterdam: the city is full of it. Many facades of buildings are also decorated with works of art. All these works of art make Amsterdam a large open-air museum.The application of art in public space and buildings has been a tradition in Amsterdam since the beginning of the last century. As a result, the city has now built up a special collection of outdoor artworks. The works of art were created by commissions by municipal services, districts and housing associations.Artworks that are visible to everyone on streets, in parks and on squares. When a work of art is located on a building and visible from the public road, it is also included. Also in the overview are some indoor works of art, when they are located in public buildings that are accessible to everyone.
