Description

The Land Use Card (or Soil Usage Card) is the basis for the *Statistics Soil Use Amsterdam*. This Statistics has been maintained since 1931 by the Urban Development sector of the Public Works Office, since 1980 by the Spatial Planning Service and since 2015 by the Department of Space and Sustainability of the Municipality of Amsterdam. The Land Use Map is updated annually. Leveling moment: date of the aerial photo used & rsquos (April/May). The category classification used corresponds to the nationally applicable CBS classification for land use, but is more detailed. Land use statistics are included each year in the statistical yearbook *Amsterdam in figures* of the Department of Research, Information and Statistics (OIS, formerly O S). The Land Use Card is used within the Municipality of Amsterdam as a subsurface and for research (GIS), especially for density sizes. For the calculation of public space for management funds, the Statistics Soil Use is indispensable. The Land Use Map is less topical outside the municipal border of Amsterdam. Topicality: may 2014.
